Nonwoven insulation padding from mechanically recycled PET staple fiber (UNIFI REPREVE Textile Takeback), carded, laid, glue-sprayed and heat-set with a low-melt binder fiber. Comparative cradle-to-gate LCA by SCS Global Services shows -42% GHG vs. virgin PET padding (the study's own conservative sensitivity check puts the defensible floor at -34%). Applies to the black product only (10% virgin black masterbatch) — white is not covered by this study.
